TikTok user Alexandra Bewicke had a unique way of getting her child to eat eggs, so shared it in a video with her fans suggesting they should try it too.

In the video, which she insists ‘every parent needs to try’, Alexandra puts eggs into the freezer until they are frozen – then she takes them out and slices them into pieces before popping them into a frying pan.

She said they then resemble mini fried eggs and her child loves them, but people have commented on the post to say it made their child sick – and now an expert has warned against the technique.

One TikTok user commented: “Emergency Room doctor and child safety expert here. This is not a safe way to prepare eggs – They should not be frozen in their shells. The FDA warns against this.”

While a second person said: “My friend did this and his toddler got food poisoning.”

In the original video, which has received over 1.3million likes and thousands of comments, Alexadra explains how to make the eggs.

She said: “How to make cool eggs for your kids in the morning – so all you do is grab an egg out the fridge and put it in the freezer.

“In the morning you actually slice this up while it’s still frozen, you then put it into the frying pan and it makes really cool small eggs.

“My toddler absolutely loves it and I hope your kids do too.”

But even industry experts advise against it – with British Lion Eggs saying you should ‘only freeze eggs which are fresh and in date’ and ‘never cook eggs directly from frozen’.
