Stuff that matters

If there’s one thing that’s instantly likely to ruin your day, it’s returning to your car in a car park, only to find someone has damaged it.

Whether it’s been keyed, scraped or hit – it’s a major downer.

The right thing for the other driver to do would be to wait for you to return to apologise and swap insurance info or leave a note with their details.

Unfortunately, things don’t always go this way.

One woman from the US was recently left feeling very frustrated after nipping into a branch of Walmart.

The unnamed driver returned to her car to find a note and two chocolate bars tucked under the windscreen wipers, as is seen in a viral TikTok video.

When she picked up the piece of paper she found a message which read: “Sorry for the damage on your car.

“Can’t afford to fix it but here’s some chocolate instead.”

A winking face was drawn at the end of the note and two Hershey’s chocolate bars were alongside it.

The camera then cuts to show the extent of the damage to the car – and it is not good.

The entire right-hand side of the car is severely dented and covered in scrape marks, looking like another vehicle has crashed right into it.

The clip was posted on the video-sharing platform by a user named @viralgalaxy with the caption: “My insurance company said there’s nothing they can do.”

Since being uploaded, it has been viewed more than 600,000 times and garnered over 102,000 likes.

Thousands of people also took the time to comment with many sharing their shock.

One person wrote: “I THOUGHT IT WAS GONNA BE A DENT OR A SCRATCH.”

Another said: “Leaving a note without information is more offensive than just running.”

A third replied: “Thousands of dollars of damage and they left two chocolate bars.”

“Bro the chocolate probably melted by the time you got out there. That just adds insult to injury,” pointed out a different user.

Someone else added: “That’s like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound.”
